Our story
How this began.
Hands of Compassion Pakistan began in a front room in Karachi, with a handful of believers who had been meeting to pray for the street they lived on.
What they kept running into was not a shortage of interest in Christ. It was a shortage of anyone to walk with the people who found him. Someone would come to faith, and would then be left to work out what that meant more or less alone.
So the group started doing the slow thing rather than the large thing: one believer, one new Christian, an open Bible, and a standing appointment nobody cancelled.
That is still the shape of the ministry. It has grown — there are home fellowships across the city now, regular teaching, outreach teams, and a school in development — but the method has not changed, because the method is the point.

To reach people with the Gospel, ground them in Scripture, walk with them as they grow in Christ, and equip them to do the same for others.
What we believe
Where we stand.
Nothing here is novel. These are the convictions the church has held in common for a very long time, stated as briefly as we can manage.
- Scripture
- We believe the Bible is the word of God — inspired, trustworthy, and sufficient for what God intends us to know about himself and about how to live. We treat it as the final authority in matters of faith and conduct, and we teach it plainly rather than around it.
- God
- We believe in one God, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit: three persons, one being. He is holy, good and personal. He made all things, and he sustains them still.
- Jesus Christ
- We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, was crucified in our place, rose bodily from the dead, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. There is no other name by which anyone is saved.
- The Holy Spirit
- We believe the Holy Spirit convicts, gives new birth, and lives in every believer — assuring us that we belong to God, forming the character of Christ in us, and giving gifts for the building up of the church.
- Salvation
- We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It cannot be earned or bought. It is received through repentance and trust, and it produces a changed life — not because the change saves anyone, but because Christ does.
- The Church
- We believe the church is the body of Christ: everyone who trusts him, in every place and every century. It gathers to worship, to hear Scripture, to break bread and to pray. It is meant to be a family rather than an audience.
- The Great Commission
- We believe Christ commanded his people to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them and teaching them to obey everything he commanded. We take that as an instruction to us, in this city — and we do not consider the task finished at the moment someone believes.
- The Return of Christ
- We believe Jesus Christ will return, visibly and in person, to judge the living and the dead and to make all things new. That hope is not an escape from the work. It is what makes the work worth doing.

Emmanuel M.
Founder and Director
Emmanuel has served the church in Karachi for more than twenty years, first as a lay teacher and then in full-time ministry. He carries the teaching load and oversees the development of the Discipleship School.
Ruth S.
Women's Ministry and Counselling
Ruth leads the women’s fellowships and carries most of the counselling work. She has walked with families through bereavement, debt and marriages under real strain, and she is trusted in homes across the city.
Daniel A.
Teaching and Outreach
Daniel coordinates the home fellowships and the outreach teams. He came to faith through this ministry, was discipled in it, and now trains the believers who lead its groups.
